Life at our residential homes
Each child enjoys their own personal development plans in conjunction with stimulating group activities as part of their life at the homes. We have systems and checks in place to ensure every child receives the highest quality of personalised care.
Personal care plans
Each child has a personalised care plan and an individual therapeutic plan to support his or her personal development. We draw on an extensive skills-base to meet the particular care needs of every child. By providing a dedicated team of staff in conjunction with visiting specialists, we develop the right therapeutic care plan for every child.
Educational attainment
Each child receives our full support to return to mainstream schooling. Working in partnership with local schools, we provide assistance in the classroom and guidance to teachers. Each child is kept on top of schoolwork through private tuition and personal education plans.
Group activities
Children are encouraged to engage in regular outdoor sports and pursuits at the homes. By keeping children fit and active, we improve their physical health and relieve emotional anxiety. Each home has group programmes to improve the social skills of each child.
Quality checks
The care we provide meets very high standards. We employ highly qualified, specialist staff. Each individual programme is subject to regular formal and weekly informal reviews.
Extended services
We provide extended services to support children with complex needs before and after they come into our care:
- CareVisions Strategic Planning works in partnership with local authorities to develop care provision in response to sector needs
- CareVisions Crisis Intervention provides emergency care in dedicated crisis centres
- CareVisions After Care provides smooth transitions to independent living
- CareVisions Fostering provides a parent search, selection and training service
More than 80% of our children perform well in mainstream schools
By individual in-house education and a slow progression to mainstream school, the majority of our young people have returned to mainstream education
