US medical professional shortage creates opportunity for UK nurses.
Following a number of US research trips and meetings with health agencies and healthcare providers, Care Visions International has proven that there is a clear demand in the US for experienced UK trained Nurses.

An ageing US population, greater numbers accessing healthcare and a lack of training facilities has resulted in a shortage of experienced nursing professionals in the US. The increasing demand and pressure on American healthcare providers will grow year on year. In an attempt to counteract this potential crisis, a number of unsustainable and expensive short-term solutions are being put in place such as using travel nurses and day-to-day agency staff.A more economical and long-term solution to the problem is to encourage UK trained nurses to work in America on a permanent or 2-3 year contract basis.
Care Visions International have partnered with US clients and are able to offer UK trained Nurses (with a minimum of 2 years experience) and AHP staff some excellent positions working in first class, state of the art facilities in the US.
“Forthcoming budget cuts in the UK will have a huge impact over the coming years and bring hiring freezes and job cuts for nurses and AHP staff. Working in the US could provide a way to keep UK nurses, who want to stay in the profession and develop their skills, with a fantastic, life changing opportunity. Once the UK economy picks up and the demand for medical staff returns, these practising nurses can return with greater skills and experience, and be a real benefit to the health system in the UK.” Jay Sihota, Head of Care Visions International.
A shift in emphasis to primary care and early intervention in the US Medicare Investment Programme means front line nursing staff, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists are set to be in ever increasing demand; presenting fantastic opportunities for UK professionals.A growing number of UK educational establishments are gaining US accreditation, making UK medical staff an attractive proposition to US healthcare providers. We predict that this, combined with a similar culture, no language barriers and a traditionally better rate of pay, will result in a growing number of UK professionals weathering the economic storm in the US.
When people think of working in the US they think of Florida, Texas and California, and although these States do have a high volume of ongoing requirements, most States have vacancies outstanding. A real opportunity exists for UK staff to experience a great lifestyle in both cities and rural settings alike; often being offered a better rate of pay and a greater work / life balance along with a lower cost of living.
