Information for Local Authorities

Care Visions Fostering is a professional ‘not for profit’ organisation and was registered by the Care Commission in 2006. We recruit, train, assess and approve foster carers throughout Scotland and are passionate about providing all young people in our care, from babies to young adults, with the most supportive, safe and consistent environment possible. We assure that all our potential carers are fully assessed and meet all foster care requirements.

We offer local authorites the following placement types:

•  Short term / assessment  •  Emergency and crisis  •  Respite  •  Long term  •  Sibling / Parent and baby

Our commitment to local authorities:

Care Visions believe in having an effective quality management system and therefore we continually update our methods, policies and procedures so that we maintain high standards.  These standards are in line with therapeutic research, new developments, legislation and practice. We work closely with our network of foster carers and local authorities to tailor services that meet placement requirements, thereby achieving the best possible outcome for children and young people.

  • Inclusive: provision of care for a range of needs and encourage participation of children in decisions which affect them

  • Good quality: in terms of standards, staff and carer expertise and the overall fostering experience for children and young people

  • Therapeutic: making use of the Sanctuary framework for therapeutic care and other models and approaches

  • Outcome focused: linking with Getting it Right for Every Child and ensuring children are safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included
